At the SCFLTA Conference, the SC AATF presented Irmo High School
with a French Dictionary in memory of Marilyn Morgan who passed away on December 7, 2004, after an extended illness. Ms. Morgan,
a career French teacher, was a graduate of both Dreher High School and Southern Methodist University. She received her Masters
Degree in French from Emory University. During her lifetime, Ms. Morgan was extremely active in language organizations and
teaching. Her passions were teaching French and mentoring and training future language teachers. Ms. Morgan's career began
at Irmo High School, where she taught French for thirty years, organized and advised the French Club, regularly led students
on trips to France and served as the Foreign Language Department Head. Marilyn is very much missed by all who were touched
by her life.
